About Handy Korea
Handy Korea makes small, free tools that answer practical questions about visiting and living in Korea.
Who runs this site
Handy Korea is run by an independent publisher based in Korea. Much of the useful information for visitors, such as fare changes, new rules and holiday schedules, is published first, or only, in Korean. We read those sources and turn them into tools you can use in English.
How we make and check the tools
- Official sources first. Every figure comes from an operator or government page where one exists, and each tool lists its sources.
- Dated. Each tool shows when we last checked it. We recheck fares and rules every month and whenever we hear of a change.
- Estimates are labelled. Where no official figure exists, such as a taxi fare in traffic, we show a range and say it's an estimate.
- Tested. Calculators are tested against worked examples from the official tables before every update.
Use of AI
We use AI tools to help research, draft and build pages. A person reviews every page and checks every number against the sources before it is published.
How the site is funded
The tools are free. In future we may show ads or include affiliate links, for example to eSIM providers; when we do, links will be clearly labelled and our affiliate disclosure explains how it works. Payments never change the numbers our tools show.
Found a mistake?
Please tell us. We fix errors quickly and note the date we updated a page.
